CLINICAL TEAM

Brenda Reed – Health Relationship Coordinator

Brenda is a native Austinite and has been with the practice for over 40 years. Her passion has always been helping people with their dental needs. Brenda is the first person to welcome new patients that join our practice. She helps patients to make healthy choices and understand their treatment options. She has been with her high school sweetheart for over 40 years. They have two adult children and three grandkids whom she spends a lot of time with. She also has a 12-year-old Corgi named Daisy.

Gaby Sturgis – Dental Assistant

Gaby has a passion for dentistry that spans over 20 years.  After practicing as a dentist in Peru starting in 2005, Gaby moved to Waco,Texas with her husband Trey in 2009.  She worked as a dental assistant there until she moved to Austin, TX in 2017 to work at 8118 Dental Professionals. Gaby has been working hard and has passed her national boards and hopes to attend 2 clinical years in dental school in the near future to obtain her dentist license in Texas.

She is known at 8118 Dental not only for her excellent skills as a dental assistant but her compassionate and calming nature with the patients that she works with, especially on more complex cases. Gaby enjoys cooking, soccer, traveling, especially to Peru to visit her family and spending time with her Boykin Spaniel Beau and her husband Trey.

Crystal Garcia – Dental Assistant

Crystal was born and raised in El Paso Tx. She moved to Austin almost 2 years ago and she loves all that the city has to offer. Crystal has been in the Dental field for 6 years and is excited for more years to come at 8118 Dental Professionals. In her spare time, Crystal enjoys traveling and making memories as much as she can.

HYGIENE TEAM

Angela Clement-Groves – Registered Dental Hygienist

Angela has been enjoying her career in dentistry since 1995. As a hygienist, she feels she can help people realize health from a whole body perspective. It’s not just about the teeth! Working with doctor Kevin Deutsch and an amazing team that is like-minded makes it even more rewarding. They are all conscious of caring for people as individuals and as a whole person. In her spare time, Angela and her husband Keith can be found spending time with friends and family or staying active, always ready for adventures outdoors or underwater. 

Valerie Martinez – Registered Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Valerie graduated from El Paso Community College’s prestigious dental hygiene program in 2013 with her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene. You will find that she is compassionate, able to put her patients at ease and ensures a positive dental experience. Valerie loves building long-term patient relationships and treats everyone in the dental chair like family. Valerie is also fluent in Spanish! In her spare time, Valerie likes to spend time with her two nephews and her 3 dogs! She loves to travel and try new places to explore.

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

Rhonda Balling – Office Administrator

Rhonda has been in dentistry for over 40 years. Her passion is to help patients with their dreams to have a better smile. Rhonda was born in Austin into a large Lebanese-Italian family. She has three brothers and is the oldest of 26 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has a son and daughter who are both married. She has 4 grandchildren which she adores.

She loves to travel in the motorhome and help with dog rescue in her spare time.
