Dr. Tana Busch is recognized as an accomplished and passionate health care provider in the dental community. She has been serving her patients for over 33 years in the Austin and Central Texas surrounding area. Some of her patients come to see her from out of the state and even out of the country. Having made industry transforming contributions to her profession and most profoundly to the quality of life of her patients, she is recognized as a pioneer in her field. Dr. Busch understands that the mouth is the portal to the rest of the body and that a healthy mouth plays a key role in the quality of a person’s overall heath.
Dr. Busch, better known as “Tana” to her patients and team, earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University’s biomedical science program in 1980. She excelled in dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston graduating with honors in 1987.
Dr. Busch continued her specialty level education at numerous dental programs, which included advanced studies at the Misch International Implant Institute Surgical Program, the Pikos Institute for Implant Dentistry and the Ickert Implant Center. She is also a Mentor, Graduate and Past Advisory Board Member at the prestigious Kois Center for Advanced Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry https://www.koiscenter.com/kois-center-a-new-standard/. She also completed the Bale-Doneen Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Preceptorship which focuses on the role of oral and systemic inflammation in reducing the preventing heart attacks and strokes.
Through these intensive studies and her ongoing dedication to being on the cutting edge of education and advanced technology, Dr. Busch has achieved her vision of bringing both restorative, surgical and whole health disciplines together at her practice in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Busch is driven to bring health, beauty and long lasting results to her patients. Every new patient to her practice understands that her philosophy is “the best dentistry is no dentistry”. As a provider for 33 years at the same practice in Austin, each patient, team member and business partner understands that dentistry is only one element of the care that she provides. Her patients not only receive excellent oral health care, but they also understand that she views them as a whole person often times serving as the primary general health evaluator and commonly collaborating with patients’ medical doctors for further evaluation and preventative healthcare. It is her goal to bring each of her patients to an ideal state of oral health where they can focus only on prevention and maintenance.
Among her numerous accolades Dr. Busch is known as one of Texas Monthly’s 100 Best Dentists since the year 2008, and a Texas Academy of General Dentistry nominee for “Dentist of the Year” in 2000. She is an active member and contributor to numerous organizations including the American Dental Association, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Equilibration Society, the Alumni Association of The Pankey Institute and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She contributes to her community in many ways including past service on the board of the Central Texas AGD, Manos de Cristo, the financial advisory board of the Texas Dental Association.
She and her dentist business partner, Dr. Kevin Deutsch, have developed a full service dental practice which carries on a long tradition of excellence that began 45 years ago. She continues this tradition today through strong mentorship of her team, partners and other dentists in her community. She leverages her office as a place of learning and growth for her team, her associates and many young aspiring healthcare professionals that she welcomes for their educational externships.
When she is not working, Dr. Busch enjoys the outdoors, building projects, cars, golf, sport fishing, exercise and floating on the Blanco river.
