Permanent, Secure Results
Did you know that around three million people in the U.S. have at least one dental implant? There is a reason this solution is preferred among other tooth replacement options. Dental implants are the closest things you can get to a natural tooth!
While temporary dentures and bridges require less up-front costs and dental appointments, you may find they are not as durable or as comfortable as the alternative. In addition, with the absence of a tooth, the bone that used to support it will begin to deteriorate. Most bone loss occurs with the first year and a half of tooth loss, which is why we suggest early treatment. With dental implants, the titanium post that is surgically placed into the jaw bone acts as the tooth root, providing necessary stimulation and support.

What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants continue to be the preferred choice for patients in need of a tooth replacement procedure because they function just like natural teeth. The base of the implant is placed in the jaw where it integrates with the jaw bone, helping to stimulate the bone just like the root of a natural tooth. A custom made crown, bridge or denture is then secured on top for a fully functional, natural look and feel. When cared for properly, dental implants can last for a lifetime.
Best Candidates for Dental Implants
You may be a good candidate for implant dentistry procedures if you have:
- Healthy gums
- Completed treatment for gum disease (if gum disease was present)
- Sufficient bone available to support the implant
- Good oral hygiene habits
- Agreed to stop smoking or are a non-smoker
Bone Density & Dental Implants
Many patients with missing teeth end up losing bone tissue as the years go by. If you have significant bone loss, there may not be enough bone available to support the implant. We will need to check for signs of jaw bone loss during your consultation.
Still, there are alternatives available even for patients with low bone density. We may suggest the All-on-4® procedure as an alternative to traditional dental implants by placing implants only in areas having more available bone tissue. Another option is to perform a bone grafting procedure a few months prior to the actual implant placement.
Advanced Technology for Better Accuracy
We use the Galileos Cone Beam device as part of our dental implants procedure because it produces very accurate 3-D images of the face and jaw. Cone beam technology is often used to detect and diagnose complex dental conditions, but can also be a valuable tool for helping us select the right location for dental implant placement. Our office is equipped with innovative dental technologies that allow us to perform a variety of procedures with greater accuracy.

First of two visits for the installation of a crown. I've been putting this off for years. Turns out it was no big deal. The process was painless and much faster than I expected. Many thanks to Jeff for making the process so smooth.Jenny P.
