Based on this collective information, we present the dental implant options best suited to your unique needs, answer any questions you have and provide a detailed account of what to expect with dental implants.

Phase 2: The Day of Your Implant Surgery

On the day of your implant surgery, we ensure your comfort by administering sedation (if needed) and thoroughly numbing treatment areas. Our doctors then precisely place your dental implants within the bone. In immediate load cases, such as All-on-4, we attach a fully functional temporary prosthetic to the implants during the same appointment as implant surgery. For other procedures, we place a special type of abutment (a small metal cap which protrudes through gums) or sutures to enable the healing process. The implant is then left alone to fuse with the surrounding bone through osseointegration, a process that occurs over the following three to six months.

Phase 3: Attachment of Your Dental Implant Restoration

Once your implant sites have healed and are ready to be restored, we then custom craft and securely attach crowns (for single implants) or a full-arch prosthesis (for implant supported dentures). The attachment mechanism varies depending among implant systems, but provides an extremely secure, stable connection between your new teeth and dental implants. We then check the bite for accuracy and comfort, and provide daily homecare instructions for implant care.
